Just because you have enough money to pay for SEO consultancy services does not make the providers affordable. You need to judge the service for a few factors to finally label it to the category of affordability that you think it deserves.
Here are a few factors that you would want to consider while judging the affordability.
Upfront price: If your services for SEO costs you a fixed amount of upfront price irrespective then obviously it may not be justified. It is way easier to rank for a keyword with little competition compared to that with tough competition. In fact, going by my own experience, some of the cheapest SEO services find it impossible to rank for some keywords, simply because their tiny budget does not permit them to invest much for your campaign. So the cheapest SEO consultancy services are not necessarily the best ones.
Time to rank: A professional SEO service provider will let you know upfront the expected time that they will take to rank for a given keyword. And further note that if the time promised to rank is on the higher side then your investment for the website as well as the SEO efforts will remain blocked with no tangible return for a long duration. This is better avoided than swallowed as a bitter pill, especially so if you are new in your IM career.
Rank stability guarantees: The affordable SEO services can be called affordable only if the rank that they deliver remains stable – does not fall – for a pre-agreed period of time before the rank maintenance activities kick in. Typically this will be a month or two.
Rank maintenance services: Ranking is easier than maintaining rank. As an analogy, you may have secured the highest overall grades in your school class once, but to keep securing the highest overall grades always is a much bigger and daunting task compared to just doing it once. Similarly, a service provider worth its salt will offer rank maintenance services. Once you see any such offer from the vendor then you know that the vendor is ranking the sites using stable methods in the first place – otherwise, offering any such service would come out as a disaster.
As you would clearly see, you can think of your current SEO service as affordable only if you are satisfied in all the other fronts discussed in detail in the article above.
