Here is a business model that I have mentioned before and want to mention yet again. In fact, this is a business model that I keep referring to all the time to many of my clients, and shall keep referring to. This model has helped a number of my clients grow richer.
The Model
Here it is: the business model is about running a SEO business even if you have no clue about SEO. And that is by rebranding a core SEO service at higher price points to a segment of clients that would not have used the underlying core SEO services agency otherwise.
In fact, unlike our company that is neck-deep into SEO breathing it all the time and a few other agencies similar to ours, most of the so-called SEO consulting service companies run this business model. In hindsight, you would realize that is what makes us one of the cheap SEO services organizations – we are the core providers while many others resell services like ours.
The impact that this outsourcing business model has on the reseller is nothing short of phenomenal. The reseller is effectively responsible for selling the SEO services but not for running them. The underlying core SEO services provider will run the actual business. The reseller would either pay a flat price to the core provider or pay on revenue sharing basis.
Impact On Reseller
In fact, the model is extremely friendly for the resellers – more so compared to its amenability towards the core SEO services agency providing the actual services. This is because, the money is with the client, and the reseller is the real point of contact as far as the client is concerned. So the core provider must offer the best SEO services in its class to avoid the reseller from churning away to a competitor of the core company.
Impact On The Core Company
The core company, however, will make its money by working in bulk. The reseller’s investment is next to nothing – but the core providers will require investing significantly to buy and maintain all the state-of-the-art SEO tools, to experiment with the ever-changing game of SEO as part of its research-and-development of SEO strategies to stay ahead of the pack, and to employ almost the entire proportion of the workforce.
Summary
In summary, I have always argued that a person with social contacts of business professionals or one with selling skills never needs to know SEO – and yet, by reselling monthly SEO services, can earn significant per-client revenue on an ongoing basis as passive income without lifting a finger, once they make a sale.
