CMS or content management system is an application that allows you to publish and edit the content of your website from a central interface. This is commonly used in shopping websites, blogs and newspapers to regularly publish new information and constantly watch for modification, organizing and deleting content. A CMS application will let you manage the content of the website or blog easily without the need for in depth programming knowledge. CMS apps lets you take complete charge of your website’s content and is more efficient compared to hand coding your entire website. It is also cost effective and creates a flexible approach for the constant improvement of your website. Other advantages of deploying a content management system application are security, customization, scalability and search engine friendly. CMS is extremely cost effective as it takes care of security and core functionality standards. Content management systems are extremely useful but however it also has its share of disadvantages. They include regular upgradation, expensive hosting costs, and heavy for simple websites and are very expensive. There are also free CMS apps that you can use like WordPress and Joomla. Weighing advantages and disadvantages, CMS surely is recommended for easy management and organization of content.
